Westwind Weekly News is your information source for the communities of Raymond, Magrath, Stirling, Welling, Spring Coulee and Del Bonita.
The Westwind Weekly News team strives to keep residents up-to-date on important information, and being a regional newspaper allows people from around the area to know what is going on in each community. We encourage residents to send in information that would be of interest to local readers.
With information from Spring Coulee to Stirling, it serves to strengthen this region and unify the area. It seems in today’s world, numbers mean a lot, and if we can increase our voice, we can have more influence in keeping this area the great place it is to live.
Publisher Duane Thomson says, “I’ve come to realize that communication through a newspaper is vital for the growth of a community and for local business, to keep it viable and healthy.”
In 2003, Duane and Carma Thomson started the Magrath News, which ran for two year before including their neighbouring communities. The first edition of the Westwind Weekly News ran off the presses in February 2005.
