Stirling’s annual Settler Days kicks off tonight and runs through Saturday. Don’t miss all the activities on tap at this year’s celebration.

Village of Stirling Mayor Trevor Lewington said the village’s annual Settler Days celebration offers a broad-range of music, sports and food in a family-fun atmosphere.

“There’s the traditional favourites beginning tonight with Music on the Veranda to Friday night’s Movie in the Park through to Saturday’s Candy Parade, the 4th Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest and fireworks for the grand finale,” he noted.

New this year, he added, will be a demonstration from the Lethbridge Community Taiko Drumming Association. “Which I’m sure is bound to become a crowd favourite.”

Lewington said the success of this event is very much due to the many dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to co-ordinate all the events. “I’m always amazed at and appreciative for their passion for the community.”

“We would welcome our friends and neighbours from around the region to join us for the festivities and to take part in the fun. A detailed schedule with all the times, locations and other details is available on the village website at stirling.ca,” he said.
