Posted on March 19, 2020 by admin

The town is taking steps to ensure business continuity plans are in place to maintain critical infrastructure operands by the town such as potable water, sewer and sanitation services. The town will continue to provide updates to residents through the website and social media regarding operational status.

Those with questions or concerns are asked to call the town office at 403-758-6333 or email info@magrath.ca.

This is a public health issue, and as such, the town will follow the lead of Alberta’s chief medical officer of health and related agencies.
Potable Water System: All public access and tours are cancelled for the time being.

Garbage: Garbage pick-up is planned to continue at the town’s regular service intervals. No service disruption is currently being anticipated.
Sewer: The town’s sewer operations will be regularly maintained and operational.

Town Hall: Town hall is currently open, however, citizens are requested to seek assistance by calling the office with their business requests.

Residents trying to make payments toward town accounts can use alternate methods instead of coming to the town hall: online bill payment, e-transfer, or by mailing a cheque.

Magrath and District Fire Department: The department is taking the necessary steps to maintain operational readiness throughout the duration of the event.

FCSS: The town’s FCSS will be closed for all in-person programming. Staff are focused on creating possible alternative program delivery for suitable programs. For support or questions, contact Ryan O’Neil at 403-758-6363 or via email at ryan@magrath.ca.

Seniors Centre: The seniors centre is closed until further notice. If you need assistance contact Art Bullock at 403-758-6993 or Grace Navratil 403-758-3291.

Library: The library is closed until further notice. Staff will be investigating possible alternative service delivery arrangements and will update the public further as the situation develops.

Garth Veale Memorial Ice Arena: The arena is closed indefinitely as the situation develops.

Council Meetings: Regular council meetings will continue as scheduled, but the town is asking any members of the public wishing to attend to contact the town to confirm, and you will be required to complete a self-assessment form and provide a signed copy prior to entry.
