The Village of Stirling is pursuing a grant for their War Memorial/Cenotaph project.

During their regular Oct. 7 meeting, Stirling Village council directed administration to apply for grant funding for the War Memorial/Cenotaph project and put the project on the books as a capital project open for further discussion. Council had reviewed the prelimary design concept for the project, and if completed, the obelisk style cenotaph would be located on the west side of the town office, and will honour those from the village who have served.

“Stirling does not currently have a war memorial or cenotaph and this would allow for proper recognition of those who served from our community,” said Trevor Lewington, mayor of Stirling.
