Cases of COVID-19 have affected seven classes at Raymond Elementary School.

In a post on their website April 26, the school said they had some positive cases of COVID-19 at the school.

“We know how difficult it can be to follow the required quarantine protocols, facilitate your student’s home/online learning and maintain life’s regular responsibilities. We want you to know we are doing our best to mitigate the risk at the school and protect our staff and students. The custodial staff have been, and continue to follow the proper sanitization procedures. We appreciate your support and understanding this year, as we continue to navigate these difficult circumstances,” reads a statement on the school’s website.

According to the province’s COVID-19 school status map, as of press deadline, Raymond Junior High School and Raymond Elementary school were both listed under Alert, with two to four cases.
