Funds have been received to replace come old outhouse facilities in Stirling.
During their Nov. 17 meeting, Stirling village council discussed a grant for washroom construction.
The Community Foundation of Southwest Alberta grant, applied for by the The Stirling Lions Club and Stirling Silver Saddle Club, would replace the old outhouse facilities at the outdoor riding arena and fish pond recreation area. The village has a $12,000 with the Lions and Stirling Seniors club each contributing $5,000.
Mayor Trevor Lewington said that the existing outhouse facilities are old and in need of replacement, and during the meeting, council had reviewed quotes for the project and discussed about potential alternatives.
