Raymond RCMP were called out at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Saturday to an alleged assault that had taken place at a residence in the community.
A 32-year-old male was contained by police in what was believed to be his residence.
“Members arrived on scene and actually observed the male — they located him,” said RCMP Cpl. Josh Ruargue.
“He was walking away and he entered in to a residence and he had on him what was believed to be a knife and just making some vague threats. So at that time the residence was secured and the police dog services, the RCMP was contacted, which attended on scene. The members of the Raymond detachment began negotiating with the male and were actually successful in negotiating the male to come out and he surrendered himself and was taken into custody without any incident.”
The male remained in custody, pending a judicial interim release hearing.
RCMP couldn’t release the name and an update is expected in the days to come once the information is sworn.
