Good Neighbour Day is coming to Cardston Friday, June 17 — courtesy of the Cardston and District FCSS who will be organizing activities throughout the day and week.
It is said that the Cardston and District FCSS is organizing these activities to celebrate being good neighbor in Cardston. “We want to promote and encourage neighbourhoods to celebrate community spirit and kindness to one another. We encourage neighbourhoods to hold a block party to get to know your neighbours. Maybe organize a potluck dinner and invite everyone in your neighbourhood over — or you could hold a meet and greet to meet everyone.”
They also give the idea of painting a positive message on a rock — then hiding it somewhere in the neighbourhood or a walking path for people to see when they walk by.
Cardston and District FCSS have a multitude of events lined up for the 17 — including a ‘community keep fit’ event at 10:00 A.M. taking place at the Remington Centre. They invite you to invite a friend or neighbour to come along to enjoy a light fitness exercise at the Remington Museum grounds. “Wear comfy clothes that you can move in, equipment will be provided.” The event is also free of charge to attend.
At the Jim and Mary Kearl Library beginning at 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. stories will be read every 20 minutes and you can also create a good neighbour pennant or door hanger.
Beginning at 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. a family dance will be held at the Cardston Civic Center with a teen dance beginning just after.
