Raiders finish final round of playoffs

The Raymond Ice Raiders played the final round of provincial playoffs Tuesday in Picture Butte.

Strong defensive plays were made by Cohen Fraser, Jayden Edwards, Jace Edwards, Branson Palmer, Ryder Nelson, and Elton Akune, who kept the play out of our end and helped out goaltender Quinn Miyashiro to hold Picture Butte to four goals.  

The Raiders dominated the third period putting nine goals in to win 14 to 4. The Raiders came home with the Zone 5 Atom “D” Banner and are off to Oyen, AB to represent Zone 5 between March 13 and 16.  

Raymond’s goals went to Bella Zaremba (4), Daxon Helgerson (3, 2 assist), Janx Zaremba (3, 1 assist), Ty Fraser (1, 2 assist), Rylen Roersma (1, 1 assist), Ryder Nelson (1, 1 assist) and Reuben Baldry (1).  

The Raiders also faced off against Lethbridge #3 Peewee’s Saturday in the second round of league playoffs.  

Raymond played a strong game, but in the end came away with a 3 to 6 loss. The second game will be played this Wednesday in Raymond in the best of two points series.  

Raymond’s goals went to Daxon Helgerson (1, 1 assist), Rylen Roersma, and Janx Zaremba. Assists to Brayden Visser (2), and Cohen Fraser.
