Chiefs return for CAHL action over the weekend

As the hockey season continues, Magrath Chief teams were back on the ice this past weekend for Central Alberta Hockey League’s regular season.
U11
The U11 Chiefs had a pair of home games on their schedule this past weekend.
On Friday night, Cardston rolled into town and skated to a 14-1 win over the Chiefs. Aliza Brown had the lone Chief marker. Andreas Brown got the start in net and posted 34 saves.
On Saturday morning, Okotoks Green came to Magrath and won a close 4-2 game over the home team. Chief goals came from Aliza Brown, while Breckynn Bates had a pair of assists and Chase Ririe had a single assist. Andreas Brown was busy in net again as 52 shots were fired at the netminder.
The U11s have another two games this coming weekend as they hit the road. On Saturday, they travel to Cardston for an 11:45 a.m. rematch and then on Sunday, they head to Fort Macleod for a 10:30 a.m. puck drop.
U13
In a single game over the past weekend, the U13 Chiefs took care of business as they skated to a 9-6 win at home over Vulcan on Saturday.
Plenty of Chief players found the scoresheet in the win and Riley Schneyder led the way with four goals and two assists. Nixon Barnett had a hat trick and an assist, Beaut Beier had a goal and an assist, Carter Harris had a single goal, and Erik Quapp, Mason Heath, and Dayton Loose all had one assist. Kohlman Blackmore stopped 42 of 48 shots fired at the net.
Next action for the U13s comes on Dec. 19.
U15
Two games were on tap for the U15 Chiefs this past weekend as they had a home and an away game.
On Saturday, the Chiefs were at home against Lethbridge which resulted in a 6-3 loss. Goals came from Gage Nelson, Cooper Godlonton, and Luke Rodeback. Cody Harris chipped in with two assists, while Joseph Wilde, Logan Jensen, Clay Christensen, and Knox Tame had a single assist each. Raine Nelson got the start in net and faced 41 shots between the pipes.
In the second and final game of the weekend, the Chiefs hit the road to Brooks for a matinee matchup. In a close game, Brooks would score a late goal in the third to take a 4-3 win on home ice.
Nelson, Wilde, and Kyson Johnson had the Chiefs’ goals, while Rodeback, Harris, Godlonton, and Jensen had one assist each. Conner Schneyder made 23 stops in the net.
The U15 Chiefs hit the ice next on Dec. 17 and Dec. 18.
