Magrath Chiefs collect plenty of wins over weekend

The Magrath Chief Central Alberta Hockey League schedule is starting to wind down, but this past weekend saw plenty of wins for the home teams.
U11
A single game was on tap this past weekend for the U11 Chiefs as they hit the road to Okotoks.
Awaiting their arrival was Okotoks Green and the home team was more than ready as they secured a 10-1 victory. Aliza Brown had the lone Magrath goal with Owen Stanford and Breckynn Bates drawing assists. Andreas Brown was the Chief netminder and the goalie made 45 saves on 55 shots.
This coming weekend sees a pair of games on the schedule for the U11 Chiefs. On Friday, they play host to Cardston for a 6 p.m. puck drop and then they wrap up the weekend on Sunday with a visit to Crowsnest Pass.
U13
The U13 Chiefs were all businesses this past weekend as they were able to secure two big wins at home.
On Friday night, the Raymond Knights came to town and in a close battle, the Chiefs would best the visitors with a 4-3 win. Riley Schneyder had a pair of goals and two assists while Carter Harris had two goals and an assist, and Nixon Barnett had a single assist. Kohlman Blackmore was the starting Chief goalie and he made 14 stops on 17 shots.
After a close game to start the weekend, the Chiefs played host to Bow Island/Foremost on Saturday afternoon, which resulted in a lopsided 9-1 victory for the home squad. Harris was on fire with two goals and five assists, Schneyder had himself a game with four goals and two assists, Beau Beier collected two goals and three assists, Barnett chipped in with a goal and two assists, and Colton Olson found the scoresheet with an assist. Blackmore was back between the pipes and was stellar making 35 saves on 36 shots.
After a great weekend, the U15 Chiefs are preparing for a single game this coming weekend as they play host to the Picture Butte Blades on Saturday. Puck drop is set for 1:45 p.m.
U15
There were a pair of games on the schedule this past weekend for the U15 Chiefs.
On Saturday night, the team hosted Brooks for a tightly contested matchup. When all was said and done, the visitors left the rink with a 2-0 win. Conner Schneyder was the Chief netminder and was rock solid posting 36 saves on 38 shots.
The team wrapped up the weekend in Irvine on Sunday afternoon. In a bounce-back performance, the Chiefs’ offence couldn’t be stopped as they took home a 7-1 win. Tame Knox and Gage Nelson each had a pair of goals and an assist, Ross Ravoy had a goal and two assists, Luke Rodeback had a goal and an assist, Joseph Wilde had a single snipe, and Kyson Johnson and Merek Neilson had an assist each. Schneyder was back in net for Magrath and posted 23 saves on 24 shots.
The U15 Chiefs return to the ice on Saturday for a home date with Redcliff at 4 p.m.
