Raymond Knight teams back on the ice

The Raymond Knights returned to the ice for games this past weekend as the Central Alberta Hockey League begins with the tiering round.
U11 Tier 3
The U11 Knights scored tons of goals over the weekend as they played in a pair of games. On Saturday, the team went to Coaldale to take on the Cobras and they were able to return home with a 12-8 win. The offence was led by Jaxton Rodeback who had a hat trick and four assists and Dax Hill with four goals and two assists. Other offence came from Lane Smith who had a pair of goals and an assist, Jack Patrick Salmon who had one goal and one assist, Ronald James Moline and Cooper Rodeback had a single snipe each, and Kalani Purcell chipped in with an assist. Purcell was the starting goalie for Raymond and made 12 saves on 20 shots for the win.
On Sunday, the team hit the road to Lethbridge and they scored early and often en route to a 10-1 win. Jaxton Rodeback was on fire with six goals and three assists while Smith had a hat trick, Maysen Span had a goal and assist, Cooper Rodeback had a pair of assists, and Dax Hill and Houston Hill had an assist each. Purcell returned to the cage and made 15 saves on 16 shots.
The U11 Knights look to extend their winning streak this coming weekend as they welcome in Taber on Saturday at 1 p.m. and then hit the road once again to take on Nanton on Sunday morning.
U13 Tier 4
Two games were on the U13 Knights schedule this past weekend as the team had a pair of road games to begin the new CAHL season. Saturday saw Raymond take on Cardston and the teams were locked into a defensive battle. When the final buzzer rang, the scoreboard read 2-2. Easton Fraser had both Knight goals while Ryland Span and Cohen Brady Michel chipped in with an assist each. Peyton Rowley was in net for Raymond and the netminder made 13 saves on 15 shots.
On Sunday, the team was in Coaldale taking on the Cobras and the team hit an offensive stride that saw them skate to an 11-5 win. Fraser was dominant in the game potting five goals and collecting an assist while Hayes Hill had a goal and three assists, Michel and Nixon Roe had a goal and two assists, Span had one goal and one assist, Miles Smith found the scoresheet with a pair of assists, Kaiden Kado and Drayden Shot Both Sides had a goal, and Maddie Day Rider had one assist. Rowley was back in net and made 13 saves on 18 shots in the win.
This weekend sees Raymond with a pair of home games as they see Vulcan come to town on Friday for a 6 p.m. start and then Foothills on Saturday with puck drop at 3:15 p.m.
