Magrath Days parade grand marshals, Maury and Ila Tuff!

Maury and Ila Tuff were selected to be the grand marshals of the 2016 Magrath Days parade.

The Tuff’s are enthusiastic community members who have offered their talents to Magrath for 39 years.

Ila Tuff states, “We don’t do as much community work as we should.” The couple met in Warner, AB where they both grew up.

They will celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary in October.

Both Maury and Ila love to travel, having been as far away as Portugal, Italy, France and England; their most recent trip was to Epcot in Florida.

Maury worked twenty-five years for Beaver Homes, and continues to do work related to building, such as material pick-off.

Currently, Maury drives shipments to UPS, in the US, for In-Line Ovals on a daily basis. Ila worked as Postmaster for Magrath, and at one time knew everyone on a first name basis.

She has also lent her talents to writing for the paper in Raymond when working part time for Canada Post.

It is apparent they are busy people, as Ila was doing some painting in their restored, one-hundred-year-old house when called on for this article.

The Tuff’s have one girl, three sons, nine “amazing and awesome grandchildren,” a step-daughter, and one great-grandchild.  The continue to live active and enthusiastic, lives.
