December special deer hunt in Magrath and Casting Call in Raymond

According to a recent media release posted on the Town of Magrath website, there’s a special hunt for whitetail does occurring in the Magrath area this December.

Alberta Environment and Parks provided the following relevant details. There’s a new antlerless white-tailed deer hunting opportunity near Magrath in WMU 108 this December 2018. Magrath town council has requested the department hold a quota hunt for antlerless white-tailed deer, similar to hunts held in the past, it was stated in the media release.

Magrath officials have contacted several landowners in advance of the hunt. “It remains the responsibility of the hunter to contact all landowners for access to property they wish to hunt on,” it was stated in the media release.

Three quota hunts will take place on Dec. 6-8, Dec. 13-15, and Dec. 20-22. Each hunt will have 25 licences available with two tags per licence awarded. The quota hunt boundary includes all lands within Township 5 and Range 22 — west of the Fourth Meridian south of Highway 5 (excluding lands within Magrath town limits). Licences will be available for purchase only online at AlbertaRelm.com starting Nov. 28 at 9 a.m. on a first come — first served basis. Green tags will need to be obtained in advance to purchase a licence online. All current Alberta hunting regulations apply. Only one licence per person. Residents only. All applicants must be eligible to hold an Alberta resident hunting licence. Licence cost is $10.70 plus GST.
