Village of Stirling prohibits fires

Effective Aug. 18, due to the hot and dry conditions that currently exist and are forecasted to continue, the Village of Stirling has issued a fire ban.

All open fires including recreational fires are prohibited within the municipal boundary pursuant to Section 13 of Bylaw 491-20, the Revised Fire Bylaw.

The fire ban does not apply to fires which are fully contained in cooking or heating appliances when fueled by fluids or gasses, i.e. gas or propane fueled BBQs, stoves and heaters.

All approvals for fireworks or burn permits previously issued are suspended for the duration of the ban. No new permits will be issued until further notice.

It is an offence under the bylaw to ignite or allow a fire to burn under a fire ban.
