After two summers of work, Stirling’s 3 Street project is now complete.

Following an update on the project during Stirling village council’s regular Sept. 8 meeting, Mayor Trevor Lewington said the project was now completed with a few minor deficiencies to be addressed.

“The contractor worked hard to have the project completed before school began,” said Lewington, noting the section of 3 Street the project concerned was right in front of the school.

“Council expressed appreciation to our Public Works team for their project management during a busy summer.”

Lewington noted the project was also on budget.

This summer had marked Phase 2 of the project. Phase 1, which took place for about six weeks over the summer of 2020, consisted of pavement removal and deep excavation to access and replace old infrastructure, with the road being re-packed and allowed to settle.

Paving and beautification of the area took place in the second phase this past summer.

Council had passed a motion to accept the project for information.
