The following are selected briefs from the Jan. 11 Magrath town council meeting.
Flag policy:
Magrath town council had approved a new flag policy for the town.
Magrath previously did not have a policy regarding the raising and lowering of town flags, and the new policy can be viewed online at  https://www.magrath.ca/policies under the Subheading of Parks, Trails, and Public Spaces

Paving Tender:
Council has passed a motion to award a contract for a paving project to Ground Breakers Construction, to be completed before July 1st, 2022.
Last year, the town had put out a tender for the paving of one block of road, which was based and prepared last year, along with the paving for the town’s new multi-use courts. In a project announcement made in November 2021, the project, which is estimated at $230,000, would see the creation of new basketball courts, three pickleball courts, a new tennis court and a batting cage for baseball and softball.

Municipality of Crowsnest Pass correspondence:
Council had accepted two pieces of correspondence as information from the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass. That municipality had cc’d the town on two letters regarding their support for expanding supports and certifications of medical foreign workers for Alberta. One of the letters was for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, and the other was for the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta.
