Road work began this week on 3rd Street in the Village of Stirling between 4th and 5th Avenues. The work is part of an extensive project involving pavement removal and deep excavation to access and replace old infrastructure.
Construction is expected to last approximately six weeks and should be complete in the first week of September, dependent on weather and sub-surface conditions underneath the street.
While existing infrastructure will be replaced this summer, the road will only be re-packed and then allowed to settle (similar to work being along 2nd Avenue). Paving and beautification is scheduled for 2021.
